[brluglist] HAM operators to the rescue?

Has anyone read about SANS efforts to enlist HAM radio operators as a
backup to the Internet in case of a major disaster? Apparently, the
operators would work at the local, state, and federal level to ensure
the flow of information.
I thought it was interesting.
