That's good news, Adam! Nice to hear. I know that there are a few UL
students who use Linux, and in fact I was inspired to try it myself
after seeing a computer science student running Ubuntu. I don't think
it's very widespread, though. I'm going to do my part to spread
awareness by using my new Ubuntu-loaded laptop in the classroom this
fall. I just got a new Toshiba laptop and now I can use all the fancy
compiz stuff that grabs people's attention. (Before I had an older Dell
whose graphics card was incapable of 3D.) Plus I figured out how to
hotplug the laptop with external projectors, something that has always
been a problem for me since first trying Linux.
So are there any Linux users get-togethers in Lafayette that you know
of? Glad to be in touch with y'all. :)
